Method

Sum of the squared shares of each destination country in the month's exported FOB value. The shares are calculated over the same capture rows that yield the month's FOB value, grouped by destination country, and **are not published as cells**: opening them would require declaring destination as a dimension with a closed vocabulary of countries, which no source publishes. The index equals one when a single destination accounts for all of the month's value and tends towards zero when the value is spread across many. The cell's status comes from the status of the month's FOB value, which is the aggregate these shares break down.

Confidentiality

No threshold barrier, because the export universe protects no population. The reason is set out in the universe declaration and in ADR 0035: the population of exporting firms exists, but the source neither identifies nor counts it, so the cell cannot be evaluated, and the number of contributors is not taken from another source because that would mean inventing it. The published cell is the one the agency already publishes at the same breakdown.

Limitations

The index uses the destination country the customs declaration names, which may be a transit port and not where the honey is consumed, so it overstates concentration when a destination re-exports. A month with few operations yields a high index because of sample size and not market structure. The underlying shares are not published as cells, so the figure is reconstructed from the snapshot its lineage names.

Revision policy

The series is recalculated when the agency publishes a new edition of the year's resource. The most recent month in each capture is provisional at source, so its cell is published as provisional and is replaced by its final value in the next capture.
