Method

Chilean export FOB unit price minus the Argentine export FOB price, in the same year and territory. Both figures are published in dollars per kilogram, so the subtraction involves no conversion. The Chilean price is published monthly and this series is annual, so it enters the subtraction aggregated to the year under the rule its own record declares for that aggregation; until that rule exists, the pair cannot be formed. The cell's status is not declared: it comes from its inputs through the propagation order.

Confidentiality

No threshold barrier. The series belongs to the universe of series with no identifiable population: its figure is an aggregate market price and is not calculated over any person or firm this laboratory could count, so there is no sparse cell to protect and no unit to count. The reason is set out in the universe declaration and in ADR 0035.

Limitations

This indicator exists with its method published and does not yet publish any figure, and what it needs has been measured: **as of this version, 2026-09-26, there is no year in which both its inputs have cells**. The Chilean price covers the months of one year and the Argentine price covers a different year, because the only observed query for that series is from a year the Chilean price does not yet cover. Without a shared year there is no pair to subtract, and that is the obstacle that binds today: resolving the difference in granularity is not enough, because an annual aggregate of the Chilean price would still fall in a year where the Argentine one has no cell. The reopening condition is met whole or not at all: that both series have cells for the same year, and that the rule for aggregating the monthly Chilean price to that year exists, which no record declares today.

Revision policy

The whole series is recalculated when the agency publishes a new edition, and the previous version is kept as an erratum with its reason.
