Method

The service does not publish this price: this laboratory calculates it by dividing the `cifvalue` key, which carries United States dollars, by the `netWgt` key, which carries kilograms, in the aggregate row of the period's response. Both keys are printed in the response and the ratio is not, so the published figure is a construction of the laboratory and the source is cited as the origin of both columns. Factor applied: 1. The units of the numerator and the denominator give the series unit without conversion. The result is rounded to 6 decimal places, which is the precision at which the laboratory stores a figure. Evidence for both columns: Observation of 2026-09-10 of the bloc's imports under heading 0409 in 2024, on the response captured with sha256 `2ad27991bd752226b731cc1235d44fe5be3e74854305d157cae9b23b69e5216a`: the aggregate row prints `cifvalue` 366476554.24 and `netWgt` 174630416.449, and carries `fobvalue` as null, which is what the service does with an import. This series' price is CIF and its record says so.

Confidentiality

No threshold barrier. The series belongs to the universe of series with no identifiable population: its figure is an aggregate market price and is not calculated over any person or firm this laboratory could count, so there is no sparse cell to protect and no unit to count. The reason is set out in the universe declaration and in ADR 0035.

Limitations

The reporter of this figure is the European Union, which the service's own reference table marks as a group of countries and not as a country. The figure is therefore published for the bloc, under the code that service gives it, and not for a country or any of its members. The bloc's members are the ones the agency assigns to it in each year of the series: if they change, the figures for different years do not cover the same countries. The price is also CIF and not FOB: the service reports the value of an import with freight and insurance included, so it cannot be compared with an export price without saying so.

Revision policy

The whole series is recalculated when the agency publishes a new edition, and the previous version is kept as an erratum with its reason.

1. 1.4.0 · 27 September 2026. The figure is published for the bloc that reports it, the European Union, under the code given by the service that publishes it. It previously had nowhere to be published, because the territorial register had no level for a group of countries. The limitations also state that the bloc's members are the ones the agency assigns to it in each year of the series.
2. 1.3.0 · 27 September 2026. The record now notes what the series measures, so that the laboratory can check it only adds together series that measure the same thing. No figure changes.
3. 1.2.0 · 26 September 2026. The record's prose was reviewed against the rule that admits no hand-written counts: any count is now derived from the series declaration, left out where it only accompanied the explanation, or given the date and the reference copy of the observation it comes from.
